Hi, there! Welcome to my website. I have created this site to keep a record of and share material and ideas I've used in the classroom.
My name is Lucia Fraiese, and I am a passionate and creative EFL teacher from Buenos Aires, Argentina, currently living and teaching in Perth, Western Australia.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Language Teaching awarded by Teacher Training College ISP "Dr. Joaquín V. González". I have specialised in segmental and suprasegmental Phonetics and Phonology (at ISP "Dr. JVG" and UCL), and completed the CELTA (University of Cambridge ESOL Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) - PASS A, at Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia. I am also a Fulbright Scholar Alumnus. As far as my teaching experience is concerned, I have taught English as a Foreign Language (Intermediate, Upper intermediate and Advanced levels) and English Language and Literature (for IB and AS Levels) at several international schools in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have also lectured and tutored in Phonetics and Phonology at Teacher Training Colleges and Translation programs in Buenos Aires (ISP "Dr. JVG, ESLV "SBS", and CAFI), and I have briefly taught Business English. I have also presented at and attended several national and international conferences in the fields of Linguistics, Education and Language Teaching. I have a passion for traveling and cross-cultural communication. I have traveled around North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Asia and Oceania, and lived in Portland, OR, USA, and Perth, WA. I have always been fascinated by the intricacies of languages. Growing up, I learnt a bit of Italian through my grandparents who emigrated from Italy after the war. I also took French at school, but English has, for some reason, always been my favorite. At the moment, I am teaching English to international students in Australia, which has allowed me to deepen my knowledge of World Englishes and intercultural communication. |
